Citizen Science Showcase: RWL Featured!

Really Wild Lockleaze are really excited to feature in the Bristol Natural History Consortium’s Citizen Science Showcase!

Our event will debut ‘Wilding your Street: A How-To Guide’, a brand new resource created by the team to share everything we’ve learnt about rewilding in urban communities. We’re really proud of what’s been accomplished in Lockleaze, and we can’t wait to tell the world- especially so that other communities can learn from our experience. The event is online on Wednesday 26th February 6pm - 7pm, and will feature an intro to the guide and a Q and A with the team. You can book your place here, and please share widely!

From February 22nd to March 1st 2025, there will be a range of free citizen science events happening across the West of England, Dorset, Somerset, and Wiltshire- and you’re invited!

Citizen Science, also known as Community Science, gives everyday people the skills and ability to contribute to scientific research. By engaging in scientific activities such as monitoring and analysis of data, participants help progress our understanding of the natural world.

The Citizen Science Showcase is a series of free online and in-person training events and information sessions, designed to give an introduction to the fantastic variety of projects taking place across the region. There’ll be sessions on everything from hedgehog mapping to badger monitoring, surveys of coastal wildlife to recording plastic pollution, and you’re very welcome to join in.
