Wellbeing Walks - George Muller Museum Visit

Towards the beginning of the new year, on a chilly Saturday morning Jonathan arranged for a group of 20 of us to go to the Muller's Museum together.

The Muller's Museum is in Ashley down on College road. The Museum is based on a man called George Muller who was born in Germany but moved to Bristol in 1832. Throughout his lifetime George Muller set up 5 orphanages, which led him to care for a total of over 10,000 children. As we came into the museum a member of staff introduced us with a short summary of Muller's life and the achievements he made as a result of the kindness he showed to others.

We also had the opportunity to explore a new exhibition they had launched which revealed sewing and cross stitch projects from the girls that lived there. Some of them were really detailed and you could only imagine how long they must have taken to complete! It was a really interesting experience and everyone in the group really enjoyed it.

I think everyone got a lot from the experience, one of them being finding out more about something really amazing in our local area and another being able to build friendships with others. (Alana, 14 years old)

You would also be most welcome to join us on our next free guided walk on Friday 19th January.

We will meet up at the Hub at 10am and we will walk to the Old Library (Mullers Road)  where the lovely Steph (a local resident) will have a cuppa and a bite to eat in the cafe ( please bring some money).  We will walk back to the Hub by 12 o'clock.
