Spotlight on LNT's Warm and Welcoming Space
Warm & Welcoming Spaces
Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust are the coordinators for the Warm and Welcome Spaces for the
Lockleaze and Horfield area.
We have 10 venues spread across our neighbourhoods, delivered by 10 amazing community partners. Some provide affordable food, some offer it for free, all provide a warm space that everyone is welcome to.
All details are included on the attached map and leaflet.
We will be doing a ‘Spotlight On’ feature for each venue so you can get to know them too.
Today I would like to introduce The Hubbub at The Hub.
We are Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust, we manage your community centre at the heart of Lockleaze, supporting residents to achieve positive change for themselves and their community.
Our warm and welcome space is the Hubbub pop up cafe @ The Hub.
Every Wednesday we offer an affordable menu, which supports two local small businesses, with hot drinks from 50p and so much more, 10.30-1.30pm.
We have games, books, good conversation and the opportunity to meet friends and to make friends.
We have advice and information for a variety of topics if you need it and a change of scene, with a great atmosphere, if that’s what you require.
Attendees are shaping the space and we are responding to meet their requirements - we have already arranged housing advice drops ins which included staff training for signposting, workshops to draft proof your home, and how to access medical services online. We also completed an accessibility audit to ensure we are doing all we can to welcome everyone.
Residents of all ages, friends, home workers and passers by attend, as do parents and people out for a walk.
‘If it wasn’t for the Hubbub I wouldn’t go out - now, through the friends I’ve made here I go out a lot’-Joan.
‘The Hubbub is my social life’-Joy
They come to connect, to seek advice, to get out of the house, to come in for a warm or for a cuppa and something to eat. The reasons are as individual as they are.
‘Before I could go all day without seeing anyone - not any more ’-Rita
‘The Hubbub has been a lifesaver for me. I come every week’ -Bob
We have two super volunteers who support our warm and welcome space and are loving the opportunity to grow their skills and meet you all, and we are really impressed with their level of care and enthusiasm.
So whatever your reason for visiting, we look forward to seeing you soon.
No booking required, no entry requirements, just pop in. You are welcome.
