Really Wild Wednesday - Insect hunting at Elm Tree Farm
Last weekend Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust were delighted to support one of our community partners Steve England Outdoor Learning at the amazing Elm Tree Farm for their open day. Steve delivered two super exciting Nature Detective walks for 63 residents and then we made clay models of the things we found.
Its the only care farm in Bristol, specialising in rare breeds and has a fantastic nursery and farm shop.
The rain didn't dampen our enthusiasm and we discovered some amazing insects including the stag beetle, ground beetles, the wasp beetle, a wolf spider, tadpoles, frogs and a lot of slow worms. And even met a calf called Moose.
Please note Elm Tree Farm is a working farm and not usually open to the public-only the farm shop.
