Love Where you Live Walk to The Old Library
Love Where you Live Walk to The Old Library
19th of January
We had a perfect crisp day for a lovely walk to the Old Library. We chatted all the way there and back about a wide range of subjects including: nature, relationships, school, work and dyslexia!. We were all delighted to see the goats grazing en route.
We had a warm welcome from Steph on our arrival at Basil's Community Cafe at the Old Library (Open on a Monday, Friday and Saturday from 9.30am- 3pm.) and we were treated to hearing an amazing group singing whilst we were having a cuppa. (Bristol Umbrella Singers: Autistic and Learning Disabilities Friendly Choir)
See here for more details about the choir: https://www.facebook.com/bristolumbrellasingers/?locale=en_GB
When I asked the walkers what they got from the walk they commented on:
"It was such a lovely venue, I was impressed with how well it was being used by the community and I really enjoyed our discussions".
You would receive a warm welcome on our next free guided walk on Thursday 25th January when we do a short walk to Ebe Cafe on Filton Avenue.
We will meet at the Hub at 10am and we will walk to the cafe (bring a few pounds for a cuppa and a cake). We will return to the Hub by 12 o'clock.
Please wear appropriate clothing for the walk.
To reserve your free space or to find out further information please either pop into the Hub or contact Jonathan, Wellbeing Navigator. (I work at the Hub from Tuesday to Thursday). Tel-0117 9141129 or email: wellbeing@lockleazent.co.uk
