Old Brooms Know The Corners: a play devised and performed by acta’s Malcolm X Elders
Old Brooms Know The Corners: a play devised and performed by acta’s Malcolm X Elders – a group of African Caribbean Elders.
In the play we see Leonie, a British teenager, sent to the Caribbean to live with her Grandma. With the help of the local aunties, Leonie’s Grandma teaches her life lessons through Anansi folk tales, childhood stories and enthusiastic singing. This will be performed at the acta Community Theatre in Bedminster on 7th September at 7pm, and the Malcolm X Centre on 12th September at 7pm – and the Malcolm X Centre show will be followed by a performance from Bristol’s Reggae Orchestra.
