Buzz Community Garden July 2024

We had a very busy session on Saturday clearing the paths and walkways, ensuring visitors are able to navigate the garden safely.

The tomatoes are coming along and will soon be ready to harvest and our peas are still doing well.

The sun was shining and we spotted Cabbage Whites, Commas, a Painted Lady, Peacocks and Meadow Brown butterflies. We also have a large number of caterpillars on our Ragwort and saw some of the Cinnabar Moths too.

And yes, we had to look up the names-learning together is part of the fun!

The Borage and Lavender continue to attract the bees who happily work alongside us and our three mini ponds are looking great.

Did you know Buzz Community garden is peat and pesticide free? We create our own compost too!

The battle with the bindweed continues as does our test and trial of non chemical methods to deter the slugs-the garlic spray is still our favourite.

Come and join us every Wednesday and Saturday 10-12pm.
