An Update From LNT - July 2024
This year, we have seen several changes at Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust.
In the Spring, we said farewell to two of our team, and then we said goodbye to our CEO, Suzanne Wilson, our amazing leader and guiding light for over 7 years.
We are pleased to report they have all settled into their new jobs, and although we miss them, we are happy they are all doing well.
Being short-staffed and without a CEO has had an effect on our capacity, as had the recruitment process, but we have been doing business as usual.
Great news! We are delighted to welcome Noemi [No-Amy], our newly appointed Receptionist and Laura, our newly appointed Comms and Event team member.
We wanted to take this opportunity to thank you all for your patience and support -our trustees, our amazing volunteers, our community partners, our city-wide partners, but most of all you, residents of Lockleaze.
Hub Refurbishment
We also wanted to let you know that The Hub will close for refurbishment from 29th July to 1st September.
The upcoming LNT refurbishments are a necessary step in growing and serving our local community. We will tell you more about this exciting development soon.
But for now, it is important to let you know it will be completed in three stages.
First Stage: Hub Hall, Reception, and Boing will be partially closed from 29 July to 11 August.
Second Stage: The Hub Hall and Boing will reopen to our regular groups in the evenings from the 12th of August.
Third stage: TBC - we anticipate the refurb will be completed in October.
Our main hall and Boing will open again to the public and our regular groups on September 1st, but due to ongoing work, we will create a temporary reception until the full works are completed.
Reception will be contactable over the phone, by email and by appointment until the Week of the 19th of August when it will be closed for two weeks.
Our regular groups and hires will move to the Cameron Centre as we try to minimise disruption.
From 19th August until 1st September, we will be having a full closure to allow the staff team to take a much-needed break.
In September, we are very excited to be welcoming our new CEO, Melissa Blackburn, and the return of our advice drop-ins at The Hubbub. We are in the process of booking our new drop-in session now.
