Lockleaze Walking Tour with Barefoot Architects, Dec 2019

Following the appointment of Barefoot Architects in Nov ‘19, Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust (LNT) facilitated a ‘Lockleaze Walking Tour’. Starting at The Hub on Gainsborough Square, members of the community, project steering group, Barefoot Architects and LNT visited key places of interest in Lockleaze as well as the project site at Turner Gardens. Pausing at each area of interest (led by the community), residents were invited to speak about what they thought worked well and/or poorly in terms of design and function.

Sam, Director at Barefoot said that it was “incredibly useful in providing an improved understanding of the different house typologies and landscapes that characterise Lockleaze, especially from residents’ perspective”.

As Barefoot begin to consider initial concept designs, they will draw on the discussions had during the Walking Tour. We are now very excited to work with Barefoot and host the first co-design workshop early in the new year!
