Walkfest Bee Friendly Wildflower Walk May
29 residents of all ages recently attended our Bee Friendly Wildflower walk as part of Bristol Walkfest and to celebrate World Bee Day.
We had a really enjoyable wander around Stoke Park Estate learning about the relationship between various plants and their pollinators, and the importance of their roles in nature.
We explored the hedgerows, meadows and woodland and had some fun challenges along the way guessing which plant attracts what pollinator and if it was a top trump plant for our local bees and which habitat they prefer. We clocked up just over 7000 steps and all agreed walking, meeting new people and learning together really does have a positive impact on our health and wellbeing.
We finished the morning with a cuppa and chat at The Hub and everyone took home some useful guides to help their garden become more bee friendly.
