Rollers & Strollers Visit to Stoke Park
We recently teamed up with Bristol Disability Equality Forum for a visit to Stoke Park.
We wanted to get out and about together and introduce people to the accessible path.
A group of nine of us set off on a mild morning after introductions at The Hub, our usual meeting place.
We set a gentle pace and took our time, with plenty of rest breaks and opportunities to take photos of the amazing panoramic views across Bristol.
‘Now we all know how tall the BT Tower is!’
‘I didnt realise how much of Bristol we can see from here-the views are incredible’
Our visit included a bit of everything-local history, spotting landmarks and sharing interesting facts about the area.
‘ A really enjoyable walk, in an amazing environment, Stoke Park is so big!’
Each of our walks are an opportunity to connect, learn and discover together whilst making the most of our neighbourhood.
‘Such a fun way to learn more about Lockleaze and its history while getting some exercise and fresh air. Thank you’
We explored the gun battery placement looking at the artwork and or graffiti, but sadly the goats remained elusive this visit.
We did, however, bump into Street Goat who were being filmed, as well as a lot of other residents enjoying the school holidays along the way.
7 of the group hadn't used the path before and all expressed they would like a return visit.
We returned to The Hub for a welcome cuppa and chat at The Hubbub cafe.
‘Thank you for such an interesting walk, I am definitely going to visit again’
