Lockleaze Residents Come Together for Nature

Buzzing atmosphere at the second Lockleaze Nature Network as residents and community groups came together to connect and share what we’re all doing for nature.

Residents and community groups braved the winter’s cold to meet at the Trinity Academy to share opportunities and updates on what’s happening in the local area to help nature, and how to get involved. The atmosphere was buzzing with 24 attendees - it was so encouraging to see people coming together for a common cause, and inspiring to see how much is happening in the neighborhood.

The event was co-hosted by Really Wild Lockleaze and Stoke Park Volunteers - who gave a fascinating presentation on what they’ve been up to on Stoke Park including the numerous benefits of volunteering to get outside and take action for nature!

Other updates included Forest of Avon Trust, The Vench - Lockleaze Adventure Playground, Lockleaze Community Orchard, Buzz Community Garden and Horfield strollers among others. Thanks to everyone who brought food along for the bring and share buffet! Delicacies included Dahl with coriander garnish, cheese twists and artichoke soup!

There is a Lockleaze Nature Network every season - the next one (of course being in spring) will be hosted by Lockleaze Community Orchard - stay posted to LNT’s updates when we have confirmation of a date and come along - everyone’s welcome!
