#MondayMotivation - Keeping fit with the fabulous Cher!
Monday Motivation #ActiveLockleaze Project
As part of our partnership project #ActiveLockleaze we like to feature regular posts for our Monday Motivation section.
This is just one of the ways we promote physical activities and sports opportunities in Lockleaze. By sharing participants' personal stories we aim to inspire and motivate and encourage all residents to lead more active lives.
This week we share a blog from our amazing Cher.
My name is Cher and I work for Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust and Boing!
I’ve lived in Lockleaze all my life and am a Mum and Nan to my 2 boys and 4 beautiful grandchildren who are an important part of my life.
I have two dogs which I walk twice a day every day, whatever the weather. I usually walk in Stoke Park and Eastville Park for at least an hour but usually more, especially at weekends. I love being outside bumping into people I know and enjoying nature-it really does make me feel calm and balanced and connected to my community.
As I work locally I love to ride my bike whenever I can.
After a knee operation, walking and cycling really helped my recovery and always improves my
mood. I have recently begun to lift weights at home as part of my strengthening exercises which has
helped with my mobility, agility and balance.
I don’t know if I’m fit but I really enjoy being busy and getting out and about.
