Concorde Way Update July 2024

As many of you are aware we have been one of the leads for the campaign to reopen Concorde Way.

With Bristol Cycling Community, Sustrans, Bristol Walking Alliance and Bristol Tree Forum an open letter was sent to L & G the developer for the Bonnington Walk housing development alongside the path.

It was supported by the MOD, UWE, Lockleaze Community Orchard and many other partners and our local Councillors.

A petition was launched on the 3rd anniversary of its closure which over 1000 residents signed.

This was also sent to L & G.

After many emails we had a meeting on site last month and as a result the correct diversionary signage was put in place and the path temporarily opened up to the Lockleaze Community Orchard.

There are 2 applications relating to Concorde Way on the Bristol planning portal 24/02666/X & 24/02667/X

Throughout we have encouraged L & G to send out a letter to residents to update on what’s happening. They have stated that Concorde Way will reopen in August 2025.

What next? What can you do?

All residents can do the following:

● Contact the Lockleaze Councillors

Cllr.David.Wilcox@bristol.gov.uk  and Cllr.Heather.Mack@bristol.gov.uk

● Contact the MP for Lockleaze

 damien.egan.mp@parliament.uk

● Comment on the planning application.

Our thanks for all those involved in this campaign.

Hopefully by working together we can get Concorde Way open again.
