Respond TODAY - to secure much needed facilities in Lockleaze
Today is the last day of the Council consultation on the future of the Cameron Centre and old Police station. Please respond, what is built here will likely be here for 50 or 100 years so this really matters.
Lockleaze has some 30 different development sites and around 1000 new homes planned. Usually when development of this scale takes place there is a masterplan which also thinks about schools, childcare places, health care places, transport and the balance of housing types. Lockleaze does not have a master plan. Residents have been responding site by site to plans to argue for amenities; our community engagement shows that residents already feel there are not enough places to socialise in the community, this will only increase when we have around 3000 more people living here.
This site is key for creating community facilities, jobs, childcare and keeping our library and community hall space. It is also crucial to the future of Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust. You can read more about what it means to the future of our organisation here.
If you want your voice to be heard please respond today here.
