We need you: trustees for Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust

This is an exciting time to join Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust as we are:

  • involved in the development of a new community space

  • working on 2 community led housing projects for 24 homes designed by and for local residents - 100% affordable

  • part of a community climate action project across Bristol to bring about a just transition

  • facilitating Really Wild Lockleaze an urban rewilding project to support nature across the community

  • running a number of wellbeing projects including walking, gardening and active Lockleaze programmes

Charities are run by a group of volunteers called Trustees or a Board of Directors. Their key role is making sure the charity is bringing about the public good that it is set up to do. In our case, that is the provision of community buildings and activity to support the Lockleaze community. The other key role for trustees are looking after our assets - or money, stuff, people - and asking questions to make sure we are we well run and operating lawfully. It is a very important role and trustees are hidden gems and unsung heroes of charity work.

At Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust we are looking for new Trustees as a number of our existing and long-serving Trustees have stepped down for family or work commitments.

We are asking people to apply by end 2023 to start in the new year. If you are interested please contact James Creed, Chair of Trustees or Suzanne Wilson, CEO of Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust for an informal chat, pop into the Hub, or complete the online form.

Thank you for your interest in Lockleaze Neighbourhood Trust.

If you would like to find out more about becoming a Trustee there is a charity supporting Trustees that is running free online training on 6 December, you can find out more and book tickets here.
