Nature inspired bench designed by the community

In 2019 and early 2020 artist Scott Farlow and Design and West held co-design workshops with Lockleaze residents. These conversations identified clear ideas for sitting, meeting and resting places alongside bold graphic motifs with key images and messages that had meaning for the community. The plan was these conversations would feed into a design for a bench in Stoke Park and some seating area on the cycle path (once the Bonnington development has completed).

This Summer a sculptural bench will be installed in Stoke Park close to Romney Avenue created by wood sculptor and chainsaw artist Andy O’Neill, carved from a fallen tree brought to the site for this purpose. You can read more about The Lockleaze Bench in this leaflet.
